Thinking about building a desk for the shop for small projects and the occasional work from home. Anyone have some ideas/recommendations? Thinking just a thick slab, unsure if I want to go floating or legs...

It's not anything I built but I have an old 60" oak drafting table, a comfortable drafting stool, a drafting machine and a Dazor drafting lamp. There's plenty of room for projects on the big tabletop and I can stand up to work if I want.

This is what I built for my shop office. 1" square tubing frame and mesh for shelves. I wanted something that would be easy to clean, not collect a lot of dust, and provide just enough space to sit and reference manuals.

What we have currently in our small garage is two lower cabinets and an 8 foot countertop set on top of it with a cabinet set on each side. This is his desk but also storage in the garage. There is also an upper cabinet to the left he has all his manuals and other books in. I got these at Lowe's damaged goods one day and I think I spent around $100 total on all of it. All the damage was the the back sides. He uses this for many projects as well.
