Garage door and opener question

Guys,

Looking at "R" values on garage doors. Is a R 19 really that much better than a 9? Anyone have experience with this? I'm looking at AMARR Olympus collection doors. R value 19.40. I live in the south and I'm concerned about heat and humidity getting into the conditioned space.

I'm also looking at a Liftmaster 8500 door opener. Anyone have experience with those?

Thanks!

R19 door is like having 6" of batt insulation in the wall. Yes, it's better than R9. Wish I had R20 instead of R13 in my walls.
I installed R14 doors a couple of years ago, and I noticed the difference from the styro clad ones they replaced.

Garage doors are the biggest loss of heat in a garage. Get the higher R. It is a one time investment for the life of the door. Ever heard someone say "I should have put a lower R value in my house"?
I have the 8500. It was a breeze to install and looks super clean installed. It is very quiet but goes slower then chain drives.

I agree on all points. I have two R19 doors in my garage both operated by Liftmaster 8500 units (or the previous model number, whatever that was). No complaints whatsoever and the space retains heat and cooling exceptionally well.
