garage door back hangs

Just moved into a new house and notice the back hangs for the garage doors are angled forward instead of vertical. Its maybe 8" off vertical over 3 feet maybe 3.5'. I know the angle will create some horizontal and not entirely vertical force at the ceiling due to gravity but its also pretty slight angle. I know it was done by the installer to hit the closest joist without adding anymore framing but just curious if anyone has seen problems with mounting like this. If so I have considered adding some blocking between ceiling joist to move the the hanger more vertical or simply redrilling the door rails back another 6-8" to move the hanger closer to vertical.

Any thoughts or just leave it alone...?

Its probably a tradeoff to hit the bottom chord of the nearest truss with 24" between them.

If its not pulling out I don't think it will hurt anything. If your ceiling is open by all means adding 2x blocking can get it straight and level. If already skinned then I'd leave it,

Personally I never angled my back hangs that much! Just went against the way I was taught plus just looks sloppy. With the door closed, simply unbolt the back hang, square it up, drill and bolt thru the horizontal track. Problem solved! I also added a bolt thru the end of the horizontal track just as a safety back up.

Yes I'm referring to the brackets to hang the door track from the ceiling. The angled them so that they could hit a ceiling joist above it's not a dramatic angle **** it does look a little off for some reason maybe just because my old house they were vertical. The ceiling is already drywalled I can get to the attic and ad blocking and move the hangers to the blocking between joist or I can just simply move and drill a new hole in the track like the previous poster mentioned.

I guess after thinking about it in the long run functionally I know it would be fine I guess it's probably more just my pickiness wanting them to be vertical

I have more questions than answers.
If it bothers you do as upndown suggests. General you will get either the opener or the doors tracks to line up with the joists. The door doesn't care if done right. The installer isn't the framer and use's what is giving him. I like to see then plumb if I can. With pole barns that have 4' spacing or more so you need to either ad blocking or new mounting locations on the track.

As a side note taller doors should have a mid hang on the horizontal track. I also do it on wider doors no matter how tall.
