I posted a few months ago on size of garage doors, and ended up planning for a 20x8 and 10x8 for the attached 3 car garage. We're building in podunk Montana and the garage door dealers are 65 miles away in Kalispell. We want insulated steel doors and, ideally, a simulated Carriage House Design. Dealer one carries Raynor and Amarr and recommended Raynor's Affina line - not a carriage house design but available in 20' width. Dealer two carries Wayne Dalton but the Carriage House design max outs at 18' width; he can offer their 8300/8500 model. Both Northwest Door and Holmes seem to offer a simulated Carriage House Design in 20' but no dealers within 175 miles.

The Raynor Affina and Wayne Dalton packages, installed with 1/2 HP and 3/4 HP chain drive openers are ~$7K installed - so price isn't a deciding factor. Leadtimes are 6-7 weeks plus shipping so it's time to do something. I'm framing the garage at 9'6" to allow 9'5"+ clear above the slab.

What do you guys recommend?

One of my places has a 18' Cloypay 2" insulated door -- metal on both sides/ foam in-between. Bought it back in the 90's and it still looks great.

With a wide door you must get heavy duty/ commercial tracks and hardware. Nylon wheels/ w/ball bearing. I have the torsion spring.

Not on your list, but I put Midland garage doors on my garage, and I have installed a few more Midland doors for other people. They are good quality and reasonably priced.

Garage door manufacturers are somewhat regional. Shipping costs kill profit.

Appears you're looking at high quality brands in your area. I'd stick with closer vendor that has service to offer along with the product. 65 miles away sounds like closest vendor in podunk Montana. ;)

Great looking property and good luck on finishing it out.

I ordered an insulated 16x12 door from Clopay last year and it was just a standard roll up door with the bubble wrap type insulation stuck to the back of it. They just don't make em like they used to. My advice would be to ask to see them in the flesh before going with either. Manufacturers change models so much nowadays to cheapen them, I'd want to see exactly how they looked before buying.
I really loved "Podunk" Montana, my wife and I drove to Glacier National Park and strayed in Kalispell. The locals were selling fresh cherries that were awesome.
I'd drive back up to help, but too far from TN. Love to go back someday though.

Ankmar here in Denver has a steel insulated door with exterior trim that creates the carriage for look without doing a full wood door. It is a pretty nice look because of the added dimension relative to the fully molded doors made to look like carriage style doors.
