About to wire up my door openers in an unfinished garage. I like a clean wire job. I'm looking for a clever idea for the garage door buttons. A panel so to speak to mount the buttons on, maybe with some key hooks on it. Anyone do anything similar? Pictures?

I’ve installed some in unfinished garages. Usually used a nice stained piece of plywood or 1 x material. Spanned two studs, ran wire in from behind the board. You could always make it longer and maybe put a paper towel holder above the buttons and a towel rod below to hook on a couple spray bottles. Window spray, cleaning spray, etc.

Bring the wires to the best location you can think of and install a 2x6 between two studs flush with the studs. Drill holes, run wire through holes and leave wire coiled until rockers finish. This will give you time to look up clever options. Long ago you could use any old contactor to control the door. One customer used momentary contact switches that looked like ordinary light switches, in normal work boxes with covers. Looked like it belonged there. Newer openers need to use the proper controls since you are controlling multiple functions with just two wires.
