I have a Genie Pro 1024 belt drive garage door opener. The logic board failed and I changed it myself and it works great BUT I damaged the rail or tension pulley during the repair. This is the pulley the drive belt goes around located opposite of the control unit.
The pulley is plastic and about the size of a half dollar, there is a chip broke out of the top of the pulley about half the size of a penny. It is working fine with a dozen up/down cycles, the limit stops have been set. The obvious answer is to replace the pulley.
Any danger if the belt happens to jump off at some point if this is not fixed? Is this a minor enough issue it can be ignored?
