Garage door headers, LVL or 2" x 12"s

Trying to complete a material list for my upcoming garage build.

I will have qty 3, 9' x 9' garage doors.

My question is use LVL for the headers or 2" x 12"s. It will be a load bearing wall.

The only reason I ask is the obvious cost savings.

I used 2 2x12 with 1/2 in osb in between. Glued and screwed everything. Good to go.

What about on 2" x 6" walls?

I used LVLs as specified by the engineered drawings. I opted to use them over the windows as well.

I wanted to use 2x12's but since it was a load bearing wall I was forced to have it engineered and the engineer called for LVL beams.

Better check with your inspector on what he'll want to see.

Whats lvl?

My big door is 2x12 with osb inbetween, load bearing wall also.
