garage door height question

I ordered my building a 13 4" inside clearance building. i switched it from 14 foot. i also changed the door size to 16x11 height. on my build sheet its still listed as 16x12. that would leave 16 inchs of head room. i know the builder would make it right but i may like the bigger door if it will fit. i have put in a few calls to garage door places but haven't heard back. the menards doors are the same price but require exactly 16 in of headroom.

i have a 26 foot enclosed trailer with a a.c unit. im pretty sure the enclosed trailers are a little less height then a camper. if anyone has any insight i would appreciate it.

I have a 27' Jayco camper that is 10'6" with the AC unit.

What do the specs for the specific garage doors call for on clearances? I would think you could modify the track system if you needed 3" or less without much trouble. They also make flush mount systems where the door is only 6" or less below the ceiling.

the menards one is 16" but I would prefer to find someone to install one. I want to get my ducks in a row before I call the builder and have it changed. the menards people aren't very knowledgable so I didn't get into the high lifts with them. if I don't need the 12 foot I don't want to invest more money into it unless its like 100.00

11 ft door is an odd height that may cost as much for the short panel, as the 12 ft door. Height is good. Lowering the header is easy, raising it is more difficult. Lowering you just leave the existing one in place and build a new false one below it.

My steel building is 16 ft eave, 2/12 roof thus 21 ft at the peak. The "garage" door, is a glass type door like used in jiffy lubes and fire stations and such. It has two metal panels, one top and one bottom, and five panels of glass with aluminum framing, the door is 12 ft wide and 14 ft high. I love the height, it makes it easier to keep the building cool in the heat.

I wanted prices on the glass door, and the local independent Amarr dealer (who has been since bought out by Amarr) told me "I could not afford one of those doors", eventually he grudgingly gave me a crazy high quote, and I eventually went with another local installer who gave me a good quote on a Windsor brand door. Even with him, it took some begging to get him to quote five panels high of glass, he was afraid it would be too expensive and only quoted me three panels originally with four panels of sheetmetal. I finally got what I wanted.
