Garage Door Installation Problem

I installed 2 new Ideal garage doors. Both are 8' high, one 9' long and the other 16'. Here is the problem: when the door goes up, the side cable catches on the right side of the door, and then slip off the door when the door is raised about 2/3 of the way up. It makes a heck of a whack when it slips off the door and strikes the track. I have adjusted and re-adjusted the door and still have the same problem. The drums the cable wraps up on are twice as wide as the ones I took off, and pull the cable towards the inside when it goes up, forcing it to overlay on the door. Has anybody on the forum had this problem? Were you able to solve it?
Thanks

I installed my first torsion bar style garage door last week, and had the same problem until I realized I needed to move the entire torsion bar towards the wall/opening more. Once I had it moved close enough that there was around 1/8" of space between the cable and the jam at the top of the door, the problem went away.
