Garage Door Insulation suggestions

New guy, great forum. I've gotten some great ideas. Was thinking of insulating my garage doors as I live in the NW hills of CT and our master bath is over the garage. The bathroom gets pretty cold in winter. I can't use the Owens corning kit as the wooden doors don't have "channels" to retain the insulatation. I was thinking of cutting 1" insulation foamboard to fit into the door panels and glue with foamboard adhesive. Any thoughts suggestions as to other alternatives or if this will be effective? Looks like this might be the only way. Thanks all.

yup, that should work.

something else to consider.... layer in a thickness of foam the depth of the recess so that it ends up level with the rest of the garage door. Then layer the complete section of garage door with 2" polystyrene. Be sure to bevel the edges accordingly so that the door can open and shut.

then finish off with new weather stripping around the door to ensure that all existing gaps between the door and the opening are sealed.
