Please forgive me if there’s a thread on this already (couldn’t find one).

I’m looking for a wrap of racing scenes (preferably with old Porsche’s) or other automotive scenes that I can apply to the interior side of our garage doors.

Is there anybody here, or a vendor you know of to point me that direction?

TIA

It would be cool to have one so that if you sit in your chair it looks like you are in the LeMan pit garage with a Porsche getting tires changed or fueled up , in the background the Pit wall with Logos and far back the grandstands......

Make one for me too :)

The thought just occurred to me - billboards these days are typically are big printed murals, could you go to one of the companies that makes them and have them print something to your specs and then put it up inside your garage? Here's one place that appears to sell them online, but there are local billboard companies everywhere. https://billboardflex.com

billboards are copyrighted

My take is that he was saying a billboard/advertising company could use your desired image - not produce a commercial one. I also like the ones that give the effect of a cool auto or racing scene!

BTW A lot of people get old vinyl ones to downcycle/reuse as HD firewood tarps. I'm sure a few cool ones got put up in garages or pole barns :)

Found this picture of garage doors awhile back on the web and thought about finding a company to make a wrap, wall paper etc of an image I have. Good luck, pass along what you find.

Have a feeling whoever can make one for doors could do a wall mural as well. I thought about reaching out to some museums- they seem to have large graphics and photos enlarged.

I plan to do something exactly like that!
I had this pictured in my mind for quite some time. Just need to get around doing it.

If you have a local shop that does vehicle wraps, they can generally print large format graphics and the same material used on a vehicle wrap could be applied to your garage door. Around our office, we have had our local vehicle wrap shop print several things for us. We recently remodeled and had to have some covers for what became electrical junction boxes in the hallway and had them print industry related stuff and applied it to the covers...much smaller I am aware, but they do custom work all the time.

Yes, that's what I meant. I thought about the places that sell old billboards for tarps as well, but I think you generally don't have much choice in what you get when you buy one.

My office had some photos of projects we've worked on in the past blown up and put on the walls in the hallways - they're probably 8' high x 16' long. I don't know where they had them made but suspect they came from one of those places.

Basically what you want is a the peel and stick vinyl that they use for vehicle wraps and similar signage. Adhesive backed vinyl.

A local sign company will be able to print what you want. There can be a learning curve to doing this.... Watch some vehicle wrap videos and it will help. Preparation goes a long ways.

Another large national printer is Circle Graphics. They do much of the printing for billboards, and other signage, including the fabric prints that you see at many homegoods type of stores..

Take your favorite picture or custom art to any local print shop that can print on large format vinyl with the measurements for the space that you would like it to fit. There is a huge variety of material choices that will adhere to walls / doors / machinery. Many print facilities print custom wraps for all of the equipment / machinery in the building.

The only limit is your imagination.

This would make a good one for the inside of the door.
