Garage door not closing

If I hit the button to close my garage door as soon as I let go the door comes back up and flashes 3 times.
On Google it says it's the wiring.

I checked all the wires and don't see any visible cuts. I did however disconnect both sensors and put them near each other but the red light does not come on.

I linked the sensors I have. Both green lights are on but not the red. Does this mean my sensors are bad?

For reference the house was built in 1994 and I bet those are original parts.

If you disconnect the opener from the door, does the door go up and down freely?

Have tried using the opener with the door disconnected from the track?

Did it just start happening? Was there any changes made to the limit adjusters?

Do you mean pull the string and close and open manually?
It started about a month ago. No changes nothing was near the sensors and nothing has touched the door or wall remote.

Do you have a bit more information on the opener such as Make/Model/etc...?

Also curious about your Google search and results. How did you arrive at your conclusions about the wiring?

My money is on something binding: a pulley, bearing, gear, etc... something that is creating drag and tripping the reverse switch "as if" the door had run into an obstruction.

It's a linear LDO50.

When the door reverses it blinks 3x which Google shows door control or wire is shorted.

The LD050 User Manual shows something different... beam obstruction.

Remember, it's not necessarily that something is in between the beam, but that the sensor isn't completing the circuit: bad wire, bad sensor, dirt on the lens, bad connections, bad controller board in the opener...

I cleaned the lens. Can't find any cut or loose wires

With most operator you can get the door to close by holding the wall button while the door is moving and releasing the button when the door is closed.

The fact that the red light is not lit tells you the beam is blocked, out of alignment or faulty. If you had a wire problem one or both of the green light would not be lit.

Have you power the unit down and restarted it again?

My door faces west and during this time of year, the angle of the sun interferes with the sensors.
Does your issue happen on a cloudy day or at night?

Have you tested these sensor wires with a multimeter for continuity? Test all four wires after disconnecting them from both ends.
I just noticed the sensor that had just the green light, the lens is missing. Should I just buy new sensors at this point?

From the photos the sensor with only a green LED never had a lens.

If the lens is missing from the one with a red LED then is no longer useable and will need to be replaced.

I suggest diagnosing the problem and not throwing parts at it.

At this time, you have nor ruled out the wiring - it does not cost you a cent to rule that out. Check all four wires that connect the sensors to the opener for continuity.

I test the 3 connections on the back of the opener. All 3 the push button, common and beam. They fluctuate between OL and 138

This means absolutely nothing.

OK, try this then….. Take two wires and run them from one sensor to the opener head. Check operation.

If this doesn’t solve your problem do the same to the other sensor. Check operation.

The fact the this brand of sensors has a green power LED on both the tranmiter and reciver that is lit, 100% rules out all open, shorted or reversed wiring faults.

I just disconnected the staples and lines up the sensors right next to each other. Nothing happened. Every now and then I'll see the red flicker but it's not consistent nor can I align it in a way to stay on.

I didn't try the wire yet as I don't have right now. But I put both sensors right next to each other and the red light flickered a few times and then nothing.
