Question: Is there a meaningful functional benefit to replacing loud but functional steel garage nylon rollers?

Or is the main benefit just quieting the opening/closing?

I can imagine that quiet operation means that there is less load on the opener (motor, chain, etc.), but not sure if it really extends life.

Thanks!

Why was it worth it? Other than less noise?
I am in the South and the garage is not climate controlled, so sealing the garage door (green hinges) does not seem like a big deal.

I did it, made a surprising difference in noise. Cheap, easy mod.

My steel rollers are noisy but it's a detached garage so it doesn't matter to me. I suppose nylon rollers will be slipperier so the door may go up and down easier.
