Garage Door Opener Install Question

Help. I have been installing a new Ryobi garage door opener and am stuck on the attachment of the j and strait arms to the door. no matter where we put the header mount or bolt the two arms together, the arms hit the top stiffener and start to put pressure on the rails. The garage door is a brand new, standard roll up insulated aluminum door. Should I just cut a notch in the stiffener for clearance?

post some pics of what you are working with. you should not have to cut any notches for a standard setup.

Firstly , welcome to GJ ! I googled your opener- so it has the long rail , and is this what is getting in the way ? Do you have this rail high enough ie my similar door openers have the rail sloping up a bit as you go away from the door . No idea if this helps- good luck with getting it sorted.
