Garage Door Opener Recommendations

I have a 16x8 insulated* steel garage door on my workshop and I'm tired of lifting the door manually.

All I need is something reliable and $200 or less with a keypad. I don't need anything fancy like smartphone connectivity. I would prefer that it be toward the quieter end of the spectrum too.

Can y'all make me a recommendation?

Budget might be a little shy, but a belt drive will be quiet. Make sure you buy one for an 8' door. Big box ones are only 7', then you have to buy the extension kit. Pro models come with a onepiece rail, meant for specific height door. Those you might get best deal from local dealer, cash and carry price. I have used Liftmaster/Chamberlain a lot of years and have had good results. Many happy customers. Good luck.

I agree with the above. Other than the 8500 series Liftmaster puts out a great product. Not a fan of box store openers, they have to much flex for me.

Spend the extra hunny and get the 8500.....you will not regret it. There's tons of threads on here discussing this ad nauseum.....try the search function.

Way easier to install, as well.....

+1 on the 8500. I got one last year after doing some research on this forum and I love it. ...but if you have extension springs (the kind that stretch lengthwise when the door closes) then the liftmaster (or any other jackshaft opener) won't work with your setup.
