Hey All! Got a question. I was just given a used 1/2 or 1/4 HP Liftmaster chain drive opener. It came off of your typical 7' high by 9' wide sectional door or a similar size. I have two 10'X10' insulated Wayne Dalton sectional doors on my shop. Can I use this opener on my 10'X10's? I see that I will have to extend the shaft from the opener to where it connects to the wall but will I have enough adjustment on the opener to accomodate the furthur up and down travel?

Thanks.

Yes you will have enough adjustment. If the doors are 10 high it will never open all the way up though. You can build the header out a little and it will open about 8'.

If he gets the extension kit won't he have enough travel to open it all the way?

They do not make an extension kit for a Liftmaster opener. They do make them for the newer Chamberlain but it uses a different type of rail. Even then it is only a 12" extension to go from 7' to 8'.
