How long does your garage door open compared to close?
I have a 10’ heigh by 16 ‘ wide door. Pretty old, so I guess pretty heavy.
Liftmaster 8500. 19 seconds to go down and 24 seconds to go up.
I’ve lubed the spring really well, just wonder if it needs to be adjusted.

I assume you can disconnect the opener - how easy does the door go up by hand? It should be more or less neutrally balanced. If it's not overly hard to lift, the opener is probably doing its thing correctly.

Haven't really timed mine to be honest, but my up time is pretty slow with the Liftmaster 8500. I have a 7' high x 15' wide door. I replaced a regular chain drive chamberlain that seemed faster. I agree checking the balance is the correct first step.

Down is just gravity, no pushing from the opener. So even if the door is unbalanced, 19 seconds is your quickest et.

That was the math I was using. 20% slower going up. When installed 5 years ago the door took some strength to lift by hand. But I could do it with one hand.

The door I have on a Liftmaster 8500 is definitely slow but I don't notice it being any slower opening than closing. Even though gravity would help in closing the motor would act as a brake in playing out the cable so I would expect similar times in both directions.
