Garage Door opening

Recently I bought a new enclosed trailer to haul my Polaris RZR. The trailer is very nice and is 8ft tall. Unfortunately, so is my garage door opening. Is there anything I can do to possibly raise the door opening? I do have a garage door opener on the door too. :-/ I know I can let air out of the tires to get it in but what a pia! Thank you in advance for any advice!

It depends on how much distance you have between top of the garage door and the garage ceiling. You'll need to leave 12-14 inches clearance to the garage ceiling for the tracks and opener. If there's room, you can move the header up by replacing the jack studs with longer ones, and shortening the cripples above the header.

Garage doors normally come in 24" increments, so your next option is for a 10' door. You'll need at least an 11' ceiling.

You might need a shorter trailer.

do you really need to park an enclosed trailer inside a typical garage? i could see putting it in a warehouse or large barn, but does it really need to go inside? i would not even entertain the thought of moving studs/headers or lengthening a garage door to put an enclosed trailer inside. isnt that the point of it being enclosed?

You can get 19" sections depending on your door, Again too many variables without much information! If you have room I'd slap on a lean to on the side. Park it in there and call it good!

let the air out of the trailer tires! Just remember to do it every time it goes in or out...

It's a pole Barn.
Smaller tires? Hmm That could be a possibility. Probably the cheapest solution. I only need an inch or two.
Thanks all for the options!!!

Maybe he just wants to do some maintenance to it out of the elements.

Nick, that is exactly what I need to do. It came with paneled walls and I want to paint them. It's still only 45 degrees here. Plus the place I bought the trailer from put their own stupid bumper stickers on it, 3 to be exact. Those need to go!
