I'm looking to replace the aluminum fascia around my garage doors. It looks like this trim is sold on rolls, and then you have to bend it to shape. Is that correct? Is there a different trim I could use instead of the aluminum that may be more diy friendly? Thanks!

That is correct. You also prob have two pieces there. One vinyl piece with a rubber seal and another that is aluminum to cover your framing.

You can rent a siding brake. Thats what you would need to do the job right.

Tear that wood surround out and install Azek trimboards...
No trim coil needed.

Its another solution but if you carefully make 1/16" measurements of the pieces in question, some basic sketches of the profile, then go to the place where the trim coil is sold (usually a roofing & siding place, could be a lumber yard, around here its Allied Bldg Materials, it won't be a box store). Typically the people at the counter will have the name of someone who bends trim for cash on the side. That person could custom make your parts and you could just put them up.

Then you don't have to mess with hauling the long brake, learning how to use it, buy a $60 coil of material when you need probably $10 or less of it. You should also get some color-matched nails in aluminum, it doesn't take very many.

Thanks, that seems like a good option to try ! I also found a place online that pre bends it. I'll check local places first. Perhaps having a piece of the old in hand will help too.

I do like the cellular PVC boards. I went and looked at the Veranda brand ones at home Depot. Do you just caulk the joining corners ?

You can or use pvc glue which melts them together. Think of it like wood and make sure it’s flashed correctly. You could use an 8 inch piece and the a two inch one in top to replicate what you have now. I used cellular pvc to save money. Not sure if veranda is solid
