I've started a new build on a 30*40 attached garage (with basement, no posts!!), and I am planning on a 16' by 12' high garage door (on the 30' side) - I was planning on placing it 4' from the left side, leaving me with 10' on the right - does this make any sense or should I place the door centered, with 7 feet on each side ? Also have the option to go to 20' wide door for more $$(it's a firehouse door so they are already high $$), with the same problem of where to position. I have a 27 boat on a trailer, a 22 foot vintage airstream, and a couple cars to fit in there...any input on the door position to get these trailers vehicles in/out easiest would be appreciated...I plan on putting up a complete build blog if I get the time as well..
