I am looking at a 16ft(2 car) door, 10ft high to be put in a pole barn. I priced it as a insulated door. I got an estimate of $1500. Is that a reasonable amount? I thought it would be more around the 1200 range.

It really depends on the R-value. Installed or DIY?

Recently installed three CHI doors and they were considerably more installed but included jack shaft drive motors and remotes. They had an R value of 17 though.

I sell garage doors to wholesale accounts. Here is what I came up with.
16x10 CHI Model 3251 Insulated (R value=6.75) std track 15r 2bm

Door: $1,025 tax included
Labor: $350 non taxable

Total: $1,375

I would say $1500 is reasonable if that is out the door pricing...my quote doesn't account for mileage or trim work etc. I would definitely get some comparable quotes though. I think you should be able to find it for less. Hope that helps.

16x10 CHI 3251 or Haas 224-EL $987 with tax, $1197 installed includes trim/weatherseal.

That is entry level insulated, R-value around 7, vinyl interior surface.

A door with good insulation, like R-value 14 or so, is more like in the $1500 range.
