Garage Door Problem

This just started today and it's driving me mad.

When pressing the wall button to close the door it doesn't close and I get the flashing light warning that something is in the way. Ok, so I check the door, nothing blocking the door or sensors. Try again...same issue.

Then I noticed if I hold the button down continuously the door will close and stay closed if I hold the button down until fully closed. If I let go of the button before the door is fully closed the door opens back up with flashing lights.

I've cleaned the sensors and quadrupled checked that there is nothing blocking.

Any ideas?

Have you verified the alignment of the sensors?

Why do the lights on my garage door opener flash and my door will not close?

Yup. Didn't realize that both sensors have LED lights. One functioning, one not.

Waiting for Homey Depot to pull a new set.

Before buying new sensors, trace the wiring from the sensor back to the motor. Make sure nothing has wore into the wires and that the wire hasn't come loose from the sensor and also the head

Won't go down without holding the button is a sensor fault. Disconnected wire or faulty sensor. Trace with a multimeter or two multimeter's will show continuity problems if they exist in wiring, otherwise it's the sensor or alignment.

Getting to be spring time. I bet a kid hit the sensor with their bike. ;)
