Garage door question

Hello all, looking for some help

I'm drywalling my garage and got to the garage door opener. The problem is the bar that goes to the motor unit it mounted too high at the door openin meaning I don't have the half inch I need to put the drywall up. My question it can I unbolt it from the wall and move it down 3/4" and bolt it back up? Or will this give me issues?

I'm sure you can move it a half inch. You will have to adjust the arm and perhaps the limit.

Drop that front mount down where you need it and tack it up with a couple nails, just enough to hold it there. Open your door manually..If the door hits the rail you've got issues, If not your good to go.
