Garage door remote control question

Bottom line - is there a way to erase one of the buttons on a LiftMaster 894LT?

More info:

I have two gate operators:
CSW200UL3 (gate 1)
CSW200UL8 (gate 2)

I have two 8500 garage door openers.

I have 4 two button remotes to control the gates. I have two 4 button remotes (894LT) one of which I just put into service which control the gates and the garage doors.

I programmed gate 1 and gate 2 using buttons 1 and 2. However, when I was programming gate 2 I accidentally programmed button 4 initially. I then programmed button 2.

I then went to program the garage doors. Those went into buttons 3 and 4.

Button 1 and 2 control the gates fine.
Button 3 controls a garage door fine.
However, when I press button 4 it opens gate 2 and the garage door. I reprogrammed the garage door to button 4, but it still actuates the gate [and garage door].

Is there an easy way to fix this? I am hoping I don't have to erase all remotes from gate 2 and reprogram all the remotes.

How can one remote control two items like this? Doesn't the 8500 have some high security system where the code changes every time or something like that?

TIA

go to chamberlain site and find the manual
Suoer helpful. Thanks.

I spoke to tech support today. Only way to do it, according to them, is to clear all remotes at the gate operator and then i have to reprogram all remotes for that gate.

The remote doesn’t learn anything; it just spits out a signal. You program the opener to accept a remote signal.

fourjeepen has it right.
It works the opposite from the way most people think.
The remote has a built in ID
The opener is programed to recognize it.

I cleared all remotes at the gate operator. Then programmed each remote. All is good now.
