I saw this and wondered why I haven't seen this before now. I wouldn't have a need for it so much where I am now since my door faces my neighbor, but my first house would have been awesome since we spent so much time out there fighting bugs.

I've been wanting one of these since I first seen it a few years ago. Has anybody found a place to just sell them. I know if i can install my own door & opener, I'm confident I can do this as well.

These are getting poplar in some neighborhoods around here. In nice weather, people are using their attached garages as screen porches. Some outdoor furniture and may even a TV !

I have had garage door screens for few years now. And they are awesome. It's not the same system as shown more like sliding panels. The one downfall of that system is you have a tall SUV and I want to work on it it's hard to pull that system down in place because of the way it goes into place. There are pros and cons to both systems but once you have the screens up you'll never know how you live without them

Have a good one, Gerard

The biggest drawback for the conventional opener guys would be how low you would have to mount it to clear the actuator arm that connects to the garage door. I doubt it would matter for the side mount openers. It would **** to have to close the screen before closing the garage door each time, and the one time you forgot about it, you'd probably fold the top of it up pretty good.

The company I work for developed the Breezy Living line of doors/screens like this. I think they sold it off or something. Not sure who is producing them now. They were kind of neat but didn't work too well if you had a low garage ceiling.

The one problem with putting that style door down is there's two sets of rollers one at the bottom and one at the top it follows the se style track as a garage door. If you have a long car or a tall car it might get in the way while closing it.

I should add when I saw it on customers house I thought that's a great idea and asked him how he liked it cause I had the sliding type. He told he about the issues of car being in the way. I see him few times a month and next time I get few more details.

we just cut some 2x2s to fit the garage door opening with a couple of boards in the middle, then staple some screens to it. Shut the door a little so the door will rest on top keep it in place.

Some of my neighbors have these. The first time I saw one I was super impressed. I'm going to have to check that HF one out. It looks pretty decent.

There's another member that has these and he lives in Georgia. He had to have them custom made and shipped to him.

Those are pretty sweet. Do you have a link for those?
Sorry I don't. I just wen t to my local aluminum company that builds pool cages, screen enclosures, etc and they came and measure the opening and where installed within a week. Like said they are so common in FL that 23 of 25 of houses on my street have them.

Have a good one Gerard
