does anyone make a 12 foot wide by 10 foot high garage door? Im not having any luck finding them on the net. Is it just a matter of adding panels?

Just last week, I was searching for a 10x8 door..... Naturally the Big box stores didn't stock them. But I call a Garage door installer, and when i said it wasnt a common size..... he said "all sizes are available" they just are not on the shelf at HD or Lowes

I bought from Garaga and they made mine to order. I have 10' x 8' high doors.

As far as garage doors are concerned, I wouldn't buy **** from a box store! Go somewhere where they know what the **** they're talking about. Not some guy from the paint department telling you what they can or can't get!

I went to Home Depot and shopped for doors and then went to a garage door company just down the road from HD. Prices a good deal lower. 12'x8' size doors not a problem.

I figured out I wanted a Haas. So I went to my local dealer with measurements of the rough opening to 1/16" height and width. I had pics in my phone if needed and a sample of the siding I was going to use for matching their color chips. It was surprisingly easy to have them step thru the order process, I got the door about 4 weeks later with full hardware kit and put it together. 2" thick full insulation, 2000 series.

Adding: I had also framed the door opening to 9' wide x 8 ft tall. If at all possible I recommend the 8' height.

About three years ago once I got my shell up I went with two Amarr 1000 series insulated doors that are 10x10 with insulated windows. There was about a two or three week lead time for delivery, I dont think my local warehouse had the configuration of height/width/windows in stock. They may all be custom order, I just remember the lead time and not the particular reason as I was working a lot of overtime then. It will not be a problem going 2' wider and having a 12x10 with any quality door company.

12' wide is a standard size for Commercial Doors. The height is just a matter of stacking panels. In a residential garage door you *may* find 12x10 challenging, though other replies seem to suggest they're out there. But in a commercial door, it's literally off-the-shelf. Definitely contact a garage door specialist vs the big-box stores for that size.

My commercial doors were substantially cheaper than buying residential doors in the same size, as it was simply a matter of cutting down the standard commercial blanks. Very common on the commercial side of things.
