Garage door sticking

I just want to find out if this happens to a lot of people...

My garage door sticks about two feet off the ground about once a month and I have to spray silicon on the rails and rollers to get it moving again. I've never had to do this, or have never heard of anyone having to do it...

Any of you having to deal with it? Not too big of a deal, but it's just weird. Any suggestions? Should I just grease everything?

Thanks in advance.

It may not be the rails and rollers. Check to see if the door panels themselves are binding on any part of the frame or weatherstrip. Also check to see that all of the hinges are tight so that the rollers don't "****" and cause a bind when the door is moving.

Thank you for the suggestions... I'll check that out, but right after I spray the silicon, the door works, so I'm not sure if it's something mechanical or not. I'll double check to be sure.

Double check the force setting on your opener also.
They are adjustable and may be set too low.

Regardless of the lubrication issue, you may not have enough tension on your springs. I just went through this with a door that would stall about a foot off the ground and the slightest help would get it to go on up.

When I unhooked the opener arm though and tried to open it by hand, I realized how much ungodly weight it was having to lift. Corrected the springs to where it was more neutral and it works fine now.

Hmm wasn't even thinking that you had an opener.

I have an 18ftx8 door which is 2" thick (insulated) and I am able to open it just fine by hand.

De couple your opener and see if it can be done by hand to rule out if it's the door or opener.

Zrexxer, thank you for this information... I checked the torsion and had a guy come out to check it out. Sure enough, it was tight enough. It's been working with zero problems!
