Yes. We waited at least 6 months for residential insulated garage doors. Shop insulated doors, 3 months... Not unusual.

Yep, sounds about right. Just finished my shop and the first thing the builder ordered after we shook hands were the doors.

Well today was the second expected arrival date that didn’t happen, we’re just over 7 months waiting and they have no idea or another expected arrival date to give me, this is beyond frustrating.

Garage door lead time is awful. Competent minds becoming even worse.

I have a customer that settled last October 2021 - we ordered door prior to digging hole and idiot door company ordered white door with clear glass (supposed to be black door and frosted glass). So we settle the house with a temp garage door while they order the correct one.

Well end of April 2022 (7 months later), we get the call that the "correct" door has finally arrived. We schedule the swap out. Tech arrives with a white door and clear glass and wonders why we are replacing the nice one we already have......😭

Thankfully my ex wife is in the business. Had mine (9x7) hurricane and insulated, in 5 weeks. Ordered in January and installed in February.

Friend ordered two doors 10‘-7‘yesterday. The quote was 3-4 weeks for build, shipping and install. The seller/installer said the supply is almost back to normal for most sizes.

Who can supply quicker?
I checked with Overhead Door Company, and they said 6-8 months, depending on style.

You might need to ask differently. Find some bigger local dealers and ask if they can make something happen in the next 4-6 weeks. You may get farther with that approach.

Where I work we likely could have a door next week; but it'd be managers choice - what's possible changes day by day.
