Ok, anyone wanna consolidate the 10 daily threads into a mega thread?
Here's some work I've done - for those that need inspiration...
This is a 16x8 - memory fading, but I think it was 8" of highlift, then follow 5/12 pitch scissor trusses. Basically sucking it up tight to the ceiling. Liftmaster 3800 of course...
(Side note - this scenario tends to bend up the #1 hinges (between bottom and first intermediate sections - if you want to do this, make sure you ask for some 11ga roller hinges here).
Went THROUGH a shelf on this one... 16x7 steelcraft, about 5' of highlift, 3800 again.
One of the hangars prevents it from opening that last 3" - but his GM's are all cars...
(Side note - if I ever did a through a shelf again, the person would pay out the wazoo for it... OMG what a pain to install this was; my knees hurt for weeks after)
Slightly a-typical highlift here... Per the manufacturers/books - this doesn't work... Needs 18" more headroom or backroom. This was a fun challenge, trying to figure out how to sneak every inch of travel out I could. I knew I could get close - but it worked out better than expected... 3800 again.
This is the "El-Cheapo" way
Standard belt drive operators later got shoved up in the ceiling
This is somewhat wrong, pitching the tracks beyond 1/8"/ft requires different springs - but in this case, I was able to just shorten the factory springs by 1" to make it work (Looses some cycle life
Cheap like borscht way to make space)
