I have just put down a RaceDeck floor in the garage after tearing up hideous outdoor carpeting. Inside the floor looks great, there are no issues. Just outside the door, there is an 8 inch "ledge" that was covered with carpeting. It is now bare concrete. It needs to be touched up to make the project complete. It is raised about a half inch above the driveway level. That is to say that there is no "ramp" into the garage. The driveway is flat and then the half inch step up to floor level. I was looking for ideas for something to put down on this to make it look good. I came across some of the rubber sealing products, but they go on the inside as shown in the picture that I have attached. I could just turn them around and use them outside, but they are only 3.5 inches wide. I don't want to just plaster the ledge with cement either and I think tile would be impractical. Any ideas?

To clarify the picture, the guy is inside. When you close the door, I have an 8 inch wide ledge outside a half inch above driveway level that needs to be covered/repaired. It is a 16 foot wide door. Thanks in advance.

I used this in my garage in Phoenix. There, for some reason the builder designed a house with no eaves so on the rare occasion that it rained, it rained very hard and water would roll under the door. This product stopped that completely. It won't keep scorpions out though.:shocking:
It was easy to put down and it stayed put. I had an epoxy floor, no Racedeck. I got mine from Griott's Garage and it was a good but pricey product and I plan to use it again once my new house is completed.
Hope this helps.

We sell a lot of the garage door thresholds. We have the Tsunami seal brand and G-Floor brand.

As you accurately state the dilemma you have is they only cover a little less than have the issue you are having a problem with. If it was me, I would put down a black threshold and coat that area with black Polyurea (if you can find a small amount) or a good 100% solids black epoxy with an aliphatic top coat -- but that might be more work than its worth. If you do use a coating just make sure you put the threshold down first.
