Garage door track width question

I really want to enclose some shelving I have in my garage that is near the garage door track that hangs from the ceiling. My question is this the distance between the track is wider at the back than at the front. Is it installed that way on purpose or can I move the track over 2" so my cabinets won't look like they are out of square?

what do you mean the distance is wider?

From eachother? that's not so good (but not horrible since they usually have floating axles to allow side to side slop). AFAIK (and I'm no expert) as long as it lines up with the opener and is square to the wall it should be OK to move them.

From the wall as it goes up? that's on purpose so it clears the wall as it's rising but is snug when it gets to the bottom.

the track itself is not square with the wall and the ceiling, The distance between the tracks is nearly 4" wider at the garage door opener end than the end after the curve in the track

I'm not a professional installer but I have installed about 5 doors on DIY projects. The 2 I just put in my shop the tracks are squared and the same width all the way from top to bottom. I have not noticed any ill effects. It doesn't take much to move the track and it should still work properly.

Well if the two tracks are not parallel, the the rollers have to be coming out from the hinges, no? Move the track over so they are parallel.
