Garage door trim

I am getting ready to frame the walls on my garage and need help to figure out how to trim out the garage door openings.

The doors are 9'x7' and the openings are 9'x7' as well. The stem wall is 8" block and the framed walls will be 2x6 with 1/2" sheathing.

The instructions for the garage doors indicate that I should install 2x6 lumber around the door opening on the inside of the garage. If I do this, this would mean I need 9" trim to trim out the opening. Does this make sense and is the jamb/trim usually this wide? I assume that the door is always installed behind the stem wall and not between the stem walls on either side of the opening?

What are my options?

Does anyone have any detailed photos of how they trimmed out their garage door openings?

Thanks!

Here is a top view of what I am proposing, hopefully it will provide a better understanding of what I am thinking. As can be seen in the picture, the door will sit 9" in from the front of the stem wall. The sheathing will be flush with the front of the stem wall
