I am building a new home and had to install a 16' wide door and an 8' wide door. Impervious ground issues. The 8' wide door is where I will install my 4 post lift. Should I be concerned with the narrow width of the 8' door? What model Bend Pak would be my best choice?

I have a 9' wide door that I struggle with getting my f250 in. For cars and a straight entry you should be fine with an 8 ft- bigger vehicles might require a little more fineness- I can't help with the lift question- I have a 2 post

8' will be tight for vans and trucks, they'll fit but might be hard to line up on the lift if everything isn't straight on.
go with at least a 10' door, 12' would be better. have 2 bendpacks a HD9 & HD14 if you have the room a HD 14 might better server your present and future needs, but be aware that the HD 14 has to be bolted down. The reason for this is the right ramp is adjustable to accomodate all size vehicles, heck I use it to work on my lawn mower. The HD9 does not need to be bolted as the runways are bolted to the frame. There is slight adjustment but after you move it to where you want the ramp (right one) you have to bolt it down for stability, but with a caster set you can move it around if need be.
That's a bummer with the ground issues. If it wasn't for that I would,ve had an 18' wide door and a 10' single door. The other option before you actually build your house is to do a narrow lot home. This way you can have a massive garage.

Personally, I think 8' will be a bit tight and would try to fit a 9' in at minimum if you can swing the room.

yes, 8' and 9' will be tight so i prefer at least a 10' door, 12'

I have an HD9XW Bendpak inside a 9 ft. wide door. The inside of the 4 posts is essentially the same as my door opening which works out nice. Since you have an 8 ft door, I would just make sure the inside of the 4 posts is slightly wider than your opening that way if you make it through the door, you'll have no issues getting on the lift.

I've got a 10 foot door that I navigate regularly in and out of my shop, but if I had it to do over I would put in a 12 footer. The extra room would be nice. I would definitely not ever go less that 10.
