2)- I am not even sure if finish was an option as I was never asked about it? Possible to send it back and have factory re-finish them in matte or just have my painter re-paint them matte?
Personally, I would not want to lose $2,000 on the doors if I could avoid it. As has been suggested, once the siding and the trim on the building, the doors may be a bit more attractive to you. If nothing else, maybe you could have the doors painted to a color more appealing to you.
doubtful the supplier will take them back. I bought a garage door a few weeks ago still in factory packaging for about 40% of the original cost of the door. because the original purchasers ordered the wrong size
The doors are metal. If properly prepped, and painted correctly they should last. Most door manufactures including Amarr do not repaint doors.
If you signed off on the color anything you get will be a bonus.
Impossible to guess what the door company will do.
Sometime colors are hard to see until it's up. I try to get my customers to drive by and see installed doors to help. Some are too "busy". In 18 years I've only had one person think it was too shiny, even though it's a perfect match to his trim. It is a larger surface.
Depending on the exposure it will fad some over time.....
All standard order doors come white. Then the HO or builder paints them, no problems painting. That's a nice looking door you have, seems a waste to paint or eat 2 grand! But they are Your doors.
