It's time to buy the doors and openers. I need five. What is a good insulated door to buy and what is the "best bang for the buck" opener? I thought about Sears, Lowes or Home Depot. What else is out there?
Thanks

Best bang for the buck that I could find was an Ideal door. I just recently installed this one. Seems like decent quality, foam core, finished inside skin and neat adjusters for the springs. I paid $649 plus tax for an 8' x 16' from Menards. I think Ideal Doors is somehow affiliated with Clopay Doors.

As far as openers, I've had BAD luck with Chamberlain. The chain drive I had wore out it's bearings in 4 years and the belt drive that I have now is making bad noises and it's not even 2 years old. I thinking about a screw drive opener as soon as this one quits (might be soon from the sound of it).

3 yrs ago I replaced our 16 X 7 wood door with a steel insulated door made by CHI out of Ohio. I could not be happier! The door is steel inside and out.... 2" thk and polyfoam insluated for a R14 rating..... It's made a world of difference in the garage.... at that time it was 1K installed, not sure what it would run today.
