I picked up some 9x7 insulated clopay garage doors at home depot a few weeks ago for 250.00 each. They called it a special buy, that was not advertised.

My 9x8 Wayne-Daltons are insulated and taupe in color ( not a regular stock item). I believ they were about 500 a piece off hand, maybe less. They match the house garage so it was a no brainer which ones to buy for me.

Not to hijack the thread but is $2430 a good price for (2) 9X9 (1-3/4'') insulated doors? This includes all hardware tracks and installing 2 liftmaster 3800 units that I purchased. The tracks (he says) are all industrial, the windows are all double pain low-E units. He is supplying all the seals and weatherstripping. There are even seals in between each panel. The brand of doors are general they are steel with an R-16 rating.

I had 2 CHI 10x8's and 1 6x6 R13 insulated with 3800 openers on the big doors installed for 2350 a few years back. It included removal and disposal of some pretty beat up rollup doors.

How do you like the 3800's? The local "Overhead door co." wanted $4030 for pretty much the same doors installed.:wtf:

I love them. Quiet and so far trouble free. The nylon roller in the doors make more noise than the openers.

I specify Amarr doors for my builds-
My garage door supplier didn't even carry them until I did a side-by-side comparison of his original spec door and Amarr's.
I flat out told him carry them or I do business with someone who does.

Had a Clopay in the attached garage for 5 years..this Feburary our 2 year old left a stick in the track and when mom went to bring the door down, all kinds of hate & discontent happened...see pic.
When I had to shop for the replacement I ended up buying a Wayne Dalton replacement. I was immedietly impressed when we replaced the door.
The Clopay was a much nicer "finished" door...the trim around the windows and such was much more asthetic. BUT the door itself was flimsy IMO. The Wayne Dalton has more basic/industrial trim so to speak, but IMO the door is built 50x better.
When building the new 30x50 I needed 3 more doors, I didnt even shop around, the only thing I said was "i'll take 3 more like you sold me in Feb"
