Needless to say, looking at some of these garages causes a bit of garage envy... But I wouldn't do it any other way...the old fashioned way!

You work with what you got...right? Nice looking project you have there. Some of the best works of art are the ones I've see come out of a small one car garage.

Yes, it's a '34 5 window we're getting ready to block sand her and get some color going...

Thanks for the bigger picture. What are the plans for the '34? Here is a shot of my '34 5-window in my garage, The Hot Rod Grille.

Jim,
I've seen and taken pictures of that car @ Goodguys Columbus and maybe Nats @ louisville. Very strait. I like the understated grey with tasty pinstripe flame job. One of the cars that serves as inspriation for ours.

Plans are to have paint and polish on by Hot Rod Reunion in BG KY fathers day weekend.

Hey T,

Thanks for the kind words about my '34. The car sustained heavy damage at the Louisville NSRA Nats in 2005 when the Safety Inspection tent collapsed onto it. It's been an ordeal, but I hope to have the car at the Goodguys PPG Nats in Columbus in July. The car was repainted Dove Grey, but without the pinstripe flames. I had Tom VanNortwick lay down some red lines on the beltline and some subtle "Von Dutch" style designs on the panel below the deck lid handle, on the glove box and on the Caddy air cleaner. Stop by and say "hello" if you see the car in Columbus, or feel free to drop by my garage in Winfield, WV.

Wow! sorry to hear about the unsafe safty tent. Thinking about that gives me the heebee geebees... It sounds like you're keeping it tasty with a slightly different twist.

I don't think our's will end up as subtle...

The toughest part of this paint job has been deciding what we want to go over the paint we're putting down... Our favorite local striper (Bill Kirnec) has said yes and worked up some layouts... but the longest conversations have been about how to keep it tasty and period proper and not get to crazy...the problem being, me, my brother, and my dad are a bit "ambitious"when it comes to ideas and have had to scale things back so it doesn't look like a clown car when we're done.
