i currently have a 13.5 x 19 single detached garage with gable roof, 2x4 studs with 4x4 corners, the footing consist of 10" tall concrete footing with a row of concrete block for a total of 18" below grade then a row of block above grade.

for the addition 13.5 x 8 could i use a monolithic foundation with the same depth as the existing footer?

Check with your local Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to see what would be approved. Most AHJ's have that information readily available; along with a list of common building requirements that they will want for inspections.

yeah i spoke with them they said i can copy the 18" deep footing, would be easier to pour the monolithic all at once and tie it to the existing.
