Garage extension; optimal size and ceiling height

Hi, I'm adding an extension to my garage (internal dimensions of existing garage of 20' 6" X 20' 6") since it is too small and the height which is 9' 1" currently will not accomodate a 4 post lift.

I can make this extension up to 13' wide X 24-26' long (internal dimensions). In that extension I can also have a taller ceiling height, .

This extension will be connected to the existing garage thru large doors, but I am defining the dimensions as if I could not take credit of these openings (ex for when car doors are open), so I play safe and ensure that this extension is sufficient by its own size.

Question is what do you think of 13' (or less) X 24'(up to 26') size and what do you recommend as a best good height to be able to store 2 cars with a lift and have decent working space under a raised car.

Thanks for all your experienced advice.

13' wide will work and go as long as you can but not under 24'. As for height I have a recess in my ceiling for my coupe to run up into which is about 11'- 6". If you can go 13' I would but you only need that to stack cars. Unless you got a tall vehicle you don't need that much height for working under them.
