o.k. guys I am trying to get an idea on what I can expect to pay to have the floor and footings poured.
I am looking to build a 32 x 28 garage in the back yard of a house that I just bought. It already has a three car 36 x 26 garage. Now I want a playshop for my street rod.
I talked with a guy a few months ago and he told me to expect between 6 and 8 thousand $. Now we are talking specifics and the price has suddenly turned into 13k for all of the excavation and cement work. I am not sure how the price basically doubled, he just said that costs have gone up.
So my question to you guys is What did you pay? and does this guy sound nuts?
Yes I am getting other quotes... I guess I am just shell shocked!!!!!!:lol_hitti

24' x 32' with a 4 ft. drop off at the rear corner. 12" thick footers with a 4' poured wall foundation on top of that. 50 ton of fill sand with a 5" slab poured on top. 4000 lb mix with fiber and wire added. TOTAL... $6500. I got a good deal and a good job done.

The bigger the job the cheaper it will be per sq foot. You can start at about $5 a sqft. That would be for standard sized footings(18-24" square) Concrete is $90-110yard, around $1 sqft to finish, $1000 for steel, $1000 for washed rock, 1000-1500 for site work.

6-8k would be a good low price. My slab was as much as my 60x100x16 building. Concrete has doubled in the last 3years. The price has not went up that much in the last few months though. The prices I have listed are good for my area nc/sc, but may be low for your area.
