Garage floor for the poor man

All of your Racedecked and epoxyed floors look great, but how about a floor for someone who has a poor man's budget? I have 960sf of floor to cover and I have no desire to pay a lot for it. My main concerns are to keep the dust down and to help protect it from the road salt falling off my vehicles. I was thinking about acid etching it, then using Seal-Krete Lockdown, then doing two coats of Seal-Krete Epoxy Seal. It will be under $200 for all of that. Would using a densifier after etching make the process better though? Any other suggestions for low cost finishing?

Ike, if you go epoxy, go big. The cheap materials don't last as well from the posts and customer stories I read or hear about everyday.

You will expend the same effort either way.

Ike, one year later, what did you decide? Are you satisfied? Thanks for the follow up.

I personally like the old type floor paint. It has weathered well in most of the places that I've ever used it in. I have a Racedeck floor in my present garage. My son had to have it so he paid for it. There is no denying that it is absolutely beautiful. Now I have to spend about an hour prepping the area so when I weld the floor doesn't get damaged. I like it, but I hate the extra work I have to do so I can weld. It is actually not bad on the feet. Much better than straight concrete.
