Garage floor holding water

I have recently bought a place with a really good sized 2 car garage. Works great for what I need it for, the only thing is, is that it collects water in the middle of the floor.

Now that it is winter, my vehicles are melting off in the garage and it pools up about a foot or two from the garage door itself. It pools up in one spot that is about 3 ft wide by 5 ft long. Once that is full, it extends throughout the width of the garage. I squeegee it out once a day if I see that it is pooling up.

My question is:

Is there any other option to curing this issue other than having a company come in, drill holes, and inject concrete under it to raise it up?

I think that I will have issues with the end of my concrete meeting my driveway then.

Please help!

It sounds like they didn't slope the concrete properly when the floor was poured. (Alternatively, the base wasn't compressed well enough in that area and a depression formed as it compressed under the weight of the concrete.)

There are no "easy" fixes to "pools" in the floor. There are some floor leveling products that might work for a period of time, but in my experience they tend to chip away relatively quickly, not to mention discoloring the floor.

You might look at getting the floor epoxy coated which would probably help.

Don't ask.
At my previous house I cut a groove to allow the water to run under the door onto the driveway.
I also know a guy that drilled a small hole in the low spot. The water just drained through the floor.

Without any Location or Pictures, this is shot in dark whether anyone on GJ can give you good advice.

Now would be good time to Update GJ Profile with your LOCATION.

Also, put down a long level in garage and see how far the floor dips with a measuring tape.

Welcome to the Forum. Sorry about your problem.

What to do pretty much depends on your goals. Do you want your "pool" leveled, or do you just want the snow melt to drain out of the garage? If you just want drainage you can find the low spot in the pool and cut a trench from there to the outside with an angle grinder with a masonry wheel. Options for filling the pool range from troweling it full with thin set all the way to jackhammering the whole floor out and repouring it. I feel your pain because the house I'm in now has a similar problem. When I finally could not stand it anymore, I installed RaceDeck flooring to cover it up. Water drains under the RaceDeck which solved my problem visually, I don't see the problem. This is the garage my wife parks her cars in, so the "pretty" floor is not a hinderance to getting work done.
