looking for flooring ideas for my garage
it is insulated, but not always heated, in Canadian tempuratures

any ideas?
I was thinking VCT tiles but heard horror stories
I want something I can do myself, I used to be a flooring installer

the garage has been there for 5 years, have done a engine swap fluid changes ect.
so yes there are some stains in the concrete

I do work in the garage, not a daily driver type garage
stores my toys
heres a pic

But we don't have samsclubs in canada :) and I don't think there's a supercoat dealer (at least that I've found thus far)

heard hot tires can leave marks, and the glue doesnt like the cold weather ,
and the dirt on the tires can grind into the tiles

My Dad have a 24x30 garage with Amstrong VCT tile and Rona brand glue, still hold for 3 years now, winter garage is heated at 10degree and car is in garage everyday snow, rain, salt.

Just need to maintain it, i mean, wax it, squeegee to remove the big part of stain. My dad says have to replace 3 tile in 3 year, one because i have drop a Jeep bumper jack, 2 other lack of glue.

Im also thinking epoxy

iPad. Pain in the *** to search and paste links. I'll update this on Monday with my tile durability thread, which you can search for if u want. it's called So Can Your Floor Do This. Oh and no maintenance, ever, I mean ever. Unless hosing it is maintenance. And I tend to abuse it. New York City climate.

I'm leaning more and more toward tile. I'm still waiting on quotes from Legacy on cost of a Stain/Sealer/Clear coat combo, but that's my only other option.

I won't even consider VCT. The only threads I see on here are guys that don't actually "use" their garage. Like the one in checkerboard that's all shiny with the mirrors. . . If I had to be that careful every time I was in my garage, I'd shoot myself. but then I'd probably have to re-wax the floor. . .

I'm Canadian with Canadian temps. . . +30*C to -40*C. . .

Wow man 2.5yrs this thread has been dead. Still haven't completed the floor? :)

I knew your username looked familiar, there's a few of us on here from GTAMC and TMC.

If you plan on tiling and have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!

I live in Canada aswell. I epoxyed my floor with epoxy-coat ( don't reccomend IT ) and then redid it With a product called cipador e-100 , great stuff. Call your local concrete supply co and see what they sell. I also advise you top with a urithane clear or it will yellow in the sun. Mine did.

I live in Ontario, Canada and this is my solid snap together PVC floor, easy to put down, durable, water does not penetrate under the tiles, easy to clean, not slippery when wet. My wife's daily driver goes in it year round. I do very little work in the garage except for oil changes and minor engine work and some motorcycle repairs so its a little easier to keep clean.
The downside is that it cost me $ 3700.00 for my 22 X 30 floor but well worth it.
