We have had a lot of questions and comments about installing garage floor mats. One of the issues is everyone seems to have their own 'expert' opinion as to how its done right. Recently in one of our YouTube videos about installation we left off that different applications call for different install methods --to me that seemed obvious.

In any case here is some updated information about installation: http://tiny.cc/75a0ix

If you have questions, we have opened the post up to comments and I will be personally answering and if necessary researching questions that are asked.

cool.
I think you did a post on, you installed them in you own garage. Is that correct?

So ive been wanting to install the cheaper floor tiles off you web site for a wile.
But havent because i here the bad news about floor jacks on the tile. Id think the mats would be better?

Are mats better than tiles?

I want the tiles just because they will span the entire space, were a mat size wont.

Hi

The small-coin looks very interesting. Do you ship to Canada?

Also, quick questions.
1. How to you finish the edge that is parallel to the garage doors? I dont want snow/water to get under it.
2. Any pictures of how to finish it around a drain in the middle of the garage? Theres a blog post on your website that mentions it, but no pictures.
3. Its important for me that, at least on one side of the garage, the floor and baseboard be watertight. Is that possible with this floor?

Thanks

What bad news? Most interlocking floor tiles work just fine with jacks and jack stands.

Tiles work well with most floor jacks. The small coin works very well for what I do in my garage. It really is a matter of preference with both options having pros & cons

Hi

Also, quick questions.

We just rolled the mats out. If you want a water tight seal you could put a threshold down first, cut the mats 1/4" short of the threshold and use 3M #80 adhesive or an acrylic floor tape to secure.
2. Any pictures of how to finish it around a drain in the middle of the garage? Theres a blog post on your website that mentions it, but no pictures.

We do not have any pictures of this. The best option for round drains is to just drill multiple holes through the pVC
3. Its important for me that, at least on one side of the garage, the floor and baseboard be watertight. Is that possible with this floor?

The short answer is no :) I would never advertise this flooring as being 100% watertight. If you really want to get close you can do a full glue down and wrap the mats up the wall on that side. Tuff Seal PVC tiles have a water tight option but it is going to cost a lot more

Thanks
