I have a, I guess what youd call a dog run ( breeze way) whatever between my house and garage. Its about 12x30 and its kind of just a dead space. It looks really out of place when you pull up in the driveway. Because its all concrete I cant plant anything. I was wondering what I could do to the concrete to "pretty" it up. I had thought about laying down pavers or something of that sort but thats way to pricey for something Im not gonna be using. I have also thought about painting it. Is there something available that would stand up to and outside enviroment. Its never in direct sunlight so UV shouldnt be a problem. I prefer not having to repaint it every 2 yrs either. It will have very minimal traffic on it. I dont really want to put epoxy down either (to pricey) Im looking for something cheap and durable..... ha ha as if those 2 words go together....

You could use a concrete stain, like Behr concrete stain, but you would have to restain it every so often. Sorry to say it, but theres nothing out there that really fits what you are looking for. Have you considered tearing it out and planting a lawn?

I would go with an acid stain or a water based acid stain product. Add some score cuts into the concrete to make it look like tiles in any shape you want and stain them all the same or a couple different colors or if you don't want to cut it can do 2 stains do say a 2 foot border outside one color and a different color on the inner part to give it nice curb appeal....

I would just rip it out. Couple of guys and some sledges would make quick work of it.

I dont think tearing it out is an option. I wish it was but I dont think its feasable (sp) there is a gas line ran thru it, and Im not really sure where its at.

Stain it it is easy and it will wear nicely vs paint. Just make sure you diamond grind first!

It had better not be THROUGH the concrete or you may be in a little trouble. You may want to have someone with a detector check to see where it is EXACTLY. No gas line should be in concrete. Only above, below, or beside it.

The meter box and the gas meter is on this side of the house, maybe they just run straight up thru the concrete, Im not for sure. The pad was already poured when I bought the house. I will try and take pics in a few days... Im still in the transition of moving.
