Hi everybody,
I recently bought a house that's about 30 years old. It has a nice big 24X30 three car garage with a workbench cutout. On my last two houses, I've put down epoxy on the floor and want to do it again to this house.
The problem is that there are several cracks that range from hairline to 3/8" and quite a bit of pitting from the years of winter salt/wear and tear. I've been doing a bunch of research on what products to use to repair the cracks, and there seems to be a ton of them. Some you inject the mixture and add sand, some are just different types of caulk, some are epoxy, etc. The same for the pitting: some say resurfacer, or epoxy patch, or self-leveler, etc. There was a portion of the garage floor that ended up getting mud-jacked, so the cause of some of the cracks has been remedied. But the cracks are still there.
Here's what I need: I need to repair (not just cover up) the cracks, and smooth out the pitting. I realize that I may need to use several products, but which ones for which part? I also want to put down some type of epoxy paint once the repairs are made. There are a few spots where the edges of the cracks are not even with each other, so I plan on renting a grinder to make them even.
I've only recently discovered this forum, and there's seems to be a plethora of people with tons of experience on all different kinds of projects. So hopefully I can get some help with this one.
