Garage Floor Slope Question

Hello,

This is a very dump question. We have an attached two car garage with the size of about 21' X 21'. At a very rare occasion, I measured the slope on both sides of the garage. One side is actually almost one inch more than the other side. One side is about 4.5" and the other side is around 5.4". Is there anything I should worry about? This is six year old house.

The only thing I can think of is that water from a wet car is going to run across the garage, not just straight toward the door. That's only a problem if it runs past the door opening and pools inside the garage where it might freeze, etc. I had a similar problem, and the water pooled right in front of a man door, which was a pain.

Nothing to worry about if the garage door closes. And if you lose your marbles, you can find them over to where they rolled in one corner.

Chances are the fill underneath has settled some. If you want to spend the money, you could have it mudjacked. A lot of times, with a block foundation, they will use a smaller top block and the floor will rest on the block below it, others will lay block, or pour walls all the way up, and the floor will be backfilled with stone, or however they do it in your area. If it's not tamped and compacted tight, the fill can settle over the years. You can tell where there are hollow spots, by going around and thump the floor with something like a spud bar. You can hear the hollow areas. If you have block, or even a poured wall, and it wasn't pinned, you can look at the foundation wall and see where the concrete has settled.

And like I said, it possibly can be mudjacked, or the seal can be adjusted on the botton of the garage door.

And also, I failed to mention, it could have been a contractor screwup and someone misread the tape measure and struck the line wrong.

Did more measurement in the garage. It seems to be one side of garage floor is a little tilt, which means on one side, the middle of garage is slightly higher than the side. I guess this might be the reason. But still is there anything I should worry about? Thanks.

My garage doors close just fine. Between the concrete slab and side foundation wall, I didn't notice anything abnormal, I mean large cracks. Should I just live with it?
