I am about to put down epoxy coating on my garage floor. This is a new build and the concrete is about 10 months old now. Now for the issues. My contractors left behind quite a mess. I have paint overspray (latex I think), drywall dust, and drywall mud from tape and bedding and wall texture. What are my options for removal of this prior to preping for the epoxy? I have no experience in this department.

I also have a couple of stress cracks starting to show up. Is there anything special that has to be done for this or will the epoxy just cover it up? Any and all help / advice is appreciated. I haven't taken any pictures yet. I will try to get some up as I tackle this project.

The drywall dust, mud and tape should all come off with the initial wash. The paint you should be able to scrape off with a razor or putty knife. I had some of the same issues but all came off with the prep work

CFRED Welcome to the site.

Not to be rude or mean but I would suggest as I was in your shoes 4 weeks ago but you may want to look around the floring sections for tips, comments, failure, success and many other items against Epoxy, tiles of all types, cleaning conrete, etc that will help you with any answer you need. After you review the other postings and then have a good list of questions that others on here can tell you took the time to review first then ask they will be more willing to help with very good details. If you ask new questions that have been answered 100's of times in other postings they will not be as willing to help or will short answer you. I found this out the hard way.

This is by far the BEST site to get your answers or ideas for doing anything in the garage or shop. From top of the market flooring vendors to professional installers they are all on here daily.
