first off what a great site

my question is i want to paint my garage floor and after searching around i know not to use regular paint. i should use an epoxy paint.

my garage is 15'w X 20"L and i want to put an 6 ft. long black and white checkered stripe down the center with 4 1/2 ft. of gray on either side. Can this be done with epoxy paint ? or should i put the snap lock tiles down??

again nice site!!

It can be done with epoxy paint but you have to plan ahead as it will involve masking off the checkerboard pattern. So the one color will have to be put down and then after the proper curing time, masked for the secondary color. Sketch it out on paper and get a game plan before you start. I t will make it a lot easier.

When getting paints, I would look at where your local paint contractors go. Check into places like Lindsay Hallman Paints, Mautz Paints and a place my buddy went when he did his 2000 sq ft. shop was Diamond Vogel Paints. All these places deal with contractors, especially commercial contractors. They know whats good and what makes a paint good. The other nice thing about going to them, is they actually know what they are talking about vs the 17 year old home improvement specialist (basically a kid that don't know jack).
