Hi to all.. My new home is under construction. Now flooring is in progress. We have 3 cars at our home as ours is a big family and our garage is in underground. I have some concerns about the flooring of the garage. We prefer some long lasting, easily cleanable flooring material for garage. When searched for such a material, I have found epoxy coating on the site of Proseal Floors http://www.prosealfloors.com/products-se.... What is your opinion on epoxy coating? Will it give sufficient durability? Do we have to maintain it regularly? Is there any chance of leakages? Please reply me with your inferences.

Though I am not a technical person but I know for sure, when it comes to epoxy, it all boils down to the floor prep work.

Epoxy is a very good product yet not all products are the same. First and foremost, you need to find out local party who can install the floor for you and can warranty it too.

Having a store do the work and warranty it is way different than an individual doing the work and warrantying (is their such work) it?

Sub grade?
Make sure you install a moisture vapor barrier before the coating.

Epoxies are great for garage floors. That being said, of course you need to check for moisture, see our instructions at www.armorcladepoxy.com on how to do this. Once applied, it should last for many, many years (unfortunately nothing lasts forever). In the even that the floor needs maintenance you can always re-apply the protective topcoat, making it 'like new'.

Our website has a nice video showing how to apply it, and no special skills are required.
